Eight miles averaging 7:52 per mi. Training hasn't been going well-I've been skipping lots of days. I always make sure to get in my long run, but daily runs are hard to find time for. Traveling is tough.

Garmin thought I was done at this point, but it turns out I had 0.43 mi left to go! That last bit took me 5:44. Starting about mile 24, I got cramps in my quads and had to stop several timest to try to stretch them out. Pulling my leg back like that just bunched up my hamstrings and made them cramp up. So I had to just walk off the cramps, and then run again for awhile.

Obviously the story of my marathon is that I ran out of endurance at about mi 19. This is despite loading up on Power-Ade at every opportunity and swallowing some Gu once or twice.

If I had got in some more training runs I'm sure that would have helped. I also overestimated my fitness a little bit and went a little too hard in miles 8-13.

Final time was 3:56 and change. I feel pretty good about that. If I hadn't cramped, I probably could have saved 3 or four minutes.

It will take significant training to get below 3:45.

I did a marathon! In under 4 hr!
